Meadows Racetrack And Casino Profile
It doesn’t appear as though Greater Pittsburgh’s The Meadows Racetrack and Casino will launch its own PA online casino site. However, there’s little doubt it will be closely associated with one.
The Meadows is one of two Pennsylvania casino license holders that did not apply for a PA online gaming license. However, Penn National Gaming owns both The Meadows and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville.
Therefore, the latter’s HollywoodCasino.com PA online casino site instead has a clear connection to The Meadows property.
When it comes to sports betting, The Meadows did not sit out. The casino made a late deal with DraftKings Sportsbook. The DraftKings PA betting site launched Nov. 4 and is fully operational.

The Penn National Gaming online gambling plan
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approved Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course’ Interactive Gaming Certificate in September 2018. Penn National Gaming soon announced it had signed deals with online gaming suppliers NetEnt and IGT to help launch its PA online casino and online poker sites.
HollywoodCasino.com will run under IGT’s PlayCommand digital gaming platform. It will feature a variety of games from IGT’s PlayCasino game library and deploy IGT’s PlayBingo and PlayPoker online gaming solutions as well. Additionally, the site will feature a selection of NetEnt’s proprietary game library of over 200 titles.
Penn National Gaming clearly saw little value in launching a competing online casino and poker site for The Meadows. Why pay an additional $10 million in licensing fees and the cost of launching a new online gambling operation when you can drive your brick and mortar casino customer base to your sister property’s operation instead?
A HollywoodCasino.com partner?
The Meadows can advertise for HollywoodCasino.com. Plus, the loyalty program for all three entities link.
In fact, Penn National Gaming announced in late 2018 it is migrating over from its Marquee Rewards loyalty club to that of the previous owner of The Meadows, Pinnacle Entertainment, in 2019. All Penn National Gaming properties will be part of the Mychoice players club.
That means the seamless earning and redeeming of Mychoice players club at HollywoodCasino.com, The Meadows, and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
The Meadows did strike a strategic partnership deal with IGT. It could conceivably still eventually apply for a remaining PA online gambling license and jump in the business on its own.
However, it appears, it will simply maintain a tight connection to sister site Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course’s HollywoodCasino.com for now.

About The Meadows Racetrack and Casino
The Meadows launched as a harness racing facility about 25 miles south of Pittsburgh in 1963. It was the first track to launch parimutuel betting in Western Pennsylvania.
A temporary slots casino opened adjacent to the track in 2007. The old grandstand was soon removed to make room for a permanent casino, which opened on April 15, 2009. The property originally only offered slots. However, management added table games in 2010.
The Meadows Racetrack and Casino now feature more than 3,000 slots, 65 table games, and a 14-table poker room. The harness racing track hosts races all year round. Additionally, the Hyatt Place hotel is minutes away by footbridge or shuttle bus.
Gaming & Leisure Properties previously owned the property. Plus, Pinnacle Entertainment operated the casino. Then, the PGCB approved Penn National Gaming‘s takeover of its gaming license in March 2018.
